    I think you'll find it will do well here, dieselboi! I know 2 other folks in town who grow them too (click on 'Artichoke Pesto' link above, & you'll see Michele standing amongst her artichoke plants in her front yard). I cleared an area to plant one myself last year - but didn't - now you're inspiring me to give it another go. =)
